About Us

| Our History |
Since 1994, Eastern Catering have been providing high quality Halaal food, fresh or frozen, from our premises in Leicester. Our range of customers has grown considerably since this date, and our wide menu choice has also diversified. A growing reputation in local communities and mosques has built confidence in our products and improved uptake. In early 2007 we completed the move to fully accredited manufacturing premises, dedicated to Halaal and other ethnic cuisines, in order to cater for the growing needs of our customers.

Our Clients |
The majority of our business comes from contract free terms, supply of frozen meals to the NHS and educational establishments. We also provide catering services for weddings, banquets, and showpiece events for corporate clients such as the NHS. We serve these clients direct or through bulk frozen food distributors.
We realise that in the catering industry hospitality, hygiene and staff training are as important as the food itself, and we have taken great care to ensure we meet the requirements of our clients.

Our Specialist Menu |
We aim to provide as wide a menu as possible to the highest standard of excellence, using fresh and natural ingredients wherever possible, with price not suffering as a consequence. You will find a comprehensive range of products in this brochure including Asian, African, Caribbean, Middle Eastern, English, Oriental meals and accompaniments. Our recipes are authentic, and we still cook in a traditional hand made manner, rather than using bulk industrial preparation machinery. The fully microwaveable range of meals can also be re-heated in a steamer, electric or gas ovens.
The menu provides an extensive choice for a number of specialist diets. All our dishes are suitable for those observing a Halaal diet - we only use approved meat suppliers who use a non stun slaughtering method, and observe strict guidelines and certification. Customer Service |
Our business has grown because of our flexibility. All our products are available in different sizes and in either foil or oven proof microwaveable containers. Most meals can be supplied texture modified (i.e. pureed) as required, for those with swallowing difficulties. Heat levels of curries and spiced meals can be increased from mild/medium levels on request. Part cases can be ordered for greater flexibility.We realise that in the catering industry, hospitality, hygiene and staff training are as important as the food itself, and we have taken great care to ensure we meet the requirements of our clients. Our menus are available in English, Urdu, Bengali & Gujarati. All meals are clearly labelled along with best before date, traceability code and Halaal sign.

Quality and Safety Accreditation |
We are EC and UK approved manufacturers for meat products and maintain full HACCP and Quality control procedures. Products are fully traceable from a batch number system. We have achieved BSI standard. We have been STS (Support Training Services, the NHS Auditor) approved for nearly 15 years and are NHS sid (Supplier ID) registered. We are approved by the Markazi Ulama Council U.K. We also hold food safety awards from the local Environment Health Department.

Orders and Deliveries |
Our deliveries are made in our fleet of temperature controlled vehicles. Orders are usually delivered in 5 working days, more quickly in emergencies. Orders over £300 qualify for free delivery; large and regular ordering can qualify for discounts.
Being centrally based in the Midlands; we aim to deliver more than one customer delivery together thus producing a lower carbon footprint. |
Recycling |
We are committed to an active environmental policy. We reuse external cardboard packaging in good condition, and collect other cardboard and foil packaging for recycling.
Extensive recycling of materials takes place in all our admin and production departments
